Context:
For the senior capstone thesis project it involves identifying a real world problem that can be addressed through a design based solution and conducting in depth research over the course of a year. The process includes analyzing the problem, understanding user needs, iterating on design solutions, and refining the final outcome. The project concludes with presenting the researched solution to the public, demonstrating how design can effectively respond to real world challenges.
Problem & Solution:
Research indicates that first-time renters face challenges such as unstable housing, unclear lease agreements, limited legal knowledge, and lack of structured support. To address this, a website was designed to guide first time renters primarily young adults aged 20–24 through the rental process. The platform offers a step by step experience across eight phases, teaching rental terminology, providing touring tips, organizing key documents, and enabling property comparisons through interactive tools. The goal is to simplify the renting process, and have a confident transition to moving into there first roof.
